History
We are a family business who have been welcoming visitors to the Solway coast for almost 50 years.
Sandyhills Bay is one of four holiday parks we own in Dumfries and Galloway. The small park with the big beach joined us in 1983.
Many years have passed since then, and our fantastic wardens, Anna and Gordon, who have been with us since 2015, are continuing to improve the facilities and service at the park.
Environment
We’re green and proud of it!
We have received the gold award from David Bellamy Conservation Scheme for over 15 years. This scheme promotes and encourages the local wildlife as well as reducing our carbon footprint.
The park is also working in partnership with RSPB and the Education and Public Affairs team from Dumfries and Galloway to promote Sandyhills as a place of interest. They provide the park with information and visitor led activities to engage and educate holidaymakers and day visitors about the wildlife at Sandyhills Bay.
Around the park we use low energy light bulbs in the shop, toilet block and holiday homes. Our toilet block lighting has light detecting devices and showers with push buttons to save water.
As well as our sinks having push taps to avoid running water we also recycle water where we can.
We will continue to look at other ways and means to improve our carbon footprint for the future.
